Hewi Dubai an urban development project is on a mission to reshape public spaces across Dubai, from one district to the next.ย

Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has officially announced the Hewi Dubai project, highlighting an exciting plan for Dubaiโ€™s public spaces.

This project aims to bring back the dynamic essence of the customary Emirati fareej by designing state-of-the-art, people-friendly communities that build stronger relationships and foster an active way of life.

Sheikh Hamdan stated, โ€œCommunity bonds are among the core values Emirati families are raised on. We must pass on these values to future generations and design public spaces that bring neighbours together, where families can gather, elders can meet and children can create endearing memories in a safe and welcoming environment.โ€

The Crown Prince further added โ€œThese new spaces will be anything but conventional. They are intended as vibrant extensions of our culture, identity and future aspirations, reflecting our values and redefining what public spaces mean to our city.โ€

As a key element of the project, Hewi Nad Al Sheba 4, developed by DFF in collaboration with the Dubai Municipality, provides a new model for public spaces creation. It will be designed with collaboration with residents, guided by detailed data and influenced by the local culture.

Positioned between a mosque and a residential area in Nad Al Sheba 4, the location was chosen for its pedestrian-friendly atmosphere and strong sense of community. The park provides a fresh approach instead of following a standard design. It focuses on comfort, sense of belonging and connection to daily life. Design of the park reflects the unique needs and values of the residents.

Located near the mosque, the shaded area known as Al Decha provides a peaceful space for people of all ages to enjoy Arabic coffee or tea and share stories.

Al Sahaa is built as a shared space(indoor and outdoor) to host community events, workshops and celebrations.

While keeping the families in mind, Al Yalsa is designed to provide relaxing space to sit with a view of childrenโ€™s recreation area, perfect for relaxing, looking after the children or having casual conversations.

With zigzagging paths and nature-inspired recreation areas, the park encourages exploration, movement and bonding between generations, creating a space that feels natural and familiar.
