The UAE passport enters the world’s top 10 passports for the first time, based on the Henley Passport Index. It ranks 9th with visa-free access to 185 countries. Since the beginning of the index in 2006, It indicates an increase of 152 countries.

Juerg Steffen, Chief executive of Henley & Partners, stated, โ€œ[This] is the result of deliberate and concerted efforts by the Emirati government to position the UAE as a global hub for business, tourism, and investment.โ€ย

โ€œOur research has consistently shown a strong correlation between a countryโ€™s visa-free score and its economic prosperity. Nations with higher visa-free scores tend to enjoy greater GDP per capita, increased foreign direct investment and more robust international trade relationships.”

Singapore reclaims the top position as it offers visa-free access to 195 countries. It is the only country that offers this luxury. It is followed by France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Spain which offer access to 192 countries, and all these countries are ranked second on the list. Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden are ranked third on the list as each country offers access to 191 nations.
