
In the first quarter of 2026, Dubai Municipality reported impressive performance in the building and Dubai construction sector, signaling steady growth across the emirate and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for sustainable urban development and investment.
The result demonstrates Dubai Municipality’s commitment to supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan through smart services and regulatory frameworks that improve efficiency and sustainability.
A total of 10,776 building permits were recorded in Q1 2026, demonstrating a 12% year-over-year increase from Q1 2025. The growth signals an increasing demand for development projects and strong investors’ confidence in Dubai’s real estate sector.

This upward trend has been led by the Dubai Municipality’s advanced digital services and facilitation measures designed to simplify licensing procedures, enhance customer experience, and boost efficiency throughout the permit issuance process.
Dubai Municipality carried out 10,855 on-site structural inspections as a part of its efforts to reinforce the construction ecosystem, highlighting the scale of ongoing construction activity and ensuring compliance with top engineering and safety standards.
In this period, a total of 824,381 cubic meters of concrete was supplied to active construction sites, demonstrating strong construction activity and progress across the Dubai construction sector. The numbers demonstrate strong coordination among stakeholders and the efficiency of supply chains and logistics that ensure timely delivery.
The total permitted built-up area reached close to 3.9 million square meters, up 48% from 2025. It demonstrates strong urban development and the diversity of projects across residential, commercial, and service developments. The growth supports a strategic approach to creating integrated, sustainable communities that elevate quality of life, support population growth, economic expansion, and uphold high standards in environmental and urban planning.
Furthermore, a total of 3,154 building completion certificates were issued, highlighting faster project delivery.
