Green Line

The Green Line stretches from Etisalat Station in Al Twar to Dubai Creek. Also, tickets can be obtained from RTA’s customer service centers, kiosks, sales agents and official website. This public transport system runs from 6 AM to 1 AM from Monday to Saturday and on Sunday, its timing begins at 9 AM.

The RTA also operates a public bus service in Dubai along with the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram. Over 1500 buses are part of this transport network, covering areas that are not even served by Dubai Metro and Tram. A Nol Card can be used to pay for the bus fare. You must have a valid Nol Card with a minimum purse value of AED 7.50. If you do not have a Nol Card or your purse value is less than the minimum threshold then you cannot use bus service in Dubai. 

These are air-conditioned buses that also offer dedicated sections for women, children and families. Passengers can use Red, Silver, Gold, or personalized Nol cards to pay the fare. The fare normally depends on the zones and an individual’s choice of Nol Card. Some popular routes of Dubai bus include F55 (Dubai Airport to Ibn Battuta as key stops), X28 (Dubai Internet City to Deira as key stops), 93 (Mall of the Emirates to Palm Jumeirah), 8 (Dubai Marina to Bur Dubai), E 100 (Dubai to Abu Dhabi), etc. 

Dubai Water Transport: A Unique Way to Travel

The RTA Dubai also manages the water transport system. Water transport in Dubai includes Abra (traditional boat), Water Taxi (private boat), Dubai Ferry (large ferries for extended travel), and Dhow cruises (for dinner and entertainment). Like other modes of public transportation, The water transport system is also integrated with the Nol Card system. Nol Card: The Key to Hassle-Free Travel

The Nol Card is a rechargeable card that makes it easier to get around the city. This card allows people to pay their public transport fares in Dubai. Whether you are using the Dubai Metro, Dubai Pram, or Bus service of Dubai’s Marine Transport, you can pay your charges through Nol Card. There are four types of Nol Cards, allowing people to use Dubai public transport to move around the city.

Red Card: This rechargeable card can be purchased from any ticketing machine. The initial cost of a Red Nol Card is AED 2. Normally, used for short stays.

Silver Card: Tourists should use this card. It is not widely available and can be purchased from specific vending machines. The initial cost of this card is AED 25 with AED 19 available for use.

Gold Card: It works like the Silver Card but with double fare. It costs twice per trip. This card allows access to Gold Class (VIP) carriages.

Blue Card: Residents should use this card because it has been developed for people who aim to stay or work in Dubai for an extended period.
